What is Capoeira?
Capoeira is an afro-Brazilian form which blends dance; martial arts, and acrobatics into one beautiful art like no other. This martial art was created by Africans brought to Brazil from many parts of Africa as a mean of self-protection and a way to fight for their own freedom. During its early years, Capoeira was disguised as a dance in order to be practiced openly. Today, it is widely known and practiced in more than 60 nations around the world.
The importance of Capoeira for youth is not only in the historical and cultural content, but it also helps to develop physical qualities like: Strength, speed, flexibility, balance and motor coordination. It can also help to develop the potential of each individual in their ability to learn in school and have a positive influence on their life in general.

Our classes are formulated so regardless of your age, weight or height, you can slowly adjust your body by increasing strength; flexibility, speed, reflexes and coordination, so that you can progressively develop high speed kicks, movements and acrobatics.
